Concept

Commissioned by a private art foundation, Stone Pavilion sits at the water's edge as a single low volume of local stone and structural glass — a deliberate act of restraint on a lake defined by ornament. The building's only gesture is a long cantilevered roof plane that frames the water without a single visible support at its edge.

Inside, one uninterrupted gallery space runs the length of the site, lit from above by a ribbon skylight that tracks the sun and eliminates the need for artificial lighting during opening hours.
