Building the platform we wished we had.
Forge is built by engineers who were tired of stitching six tools together just to ship one feature.
Forge started from a familiar frustration: every engineering team we talked to had stitched together the same six or seven tools to get from an idea to something in production, and the seams between them were where all the time went. Context switching between a code editor, a review tool, a docs wiki, a CI dashboard, and a search bar that only indexed Slack.
We didn't think the answer was one more tool bolted onto the pile. It was a single workspace, with AI woven through the parts of the workflow that were pure overhead — the review nobody wanted to do at 5pm, the documentation that was stale the day it was written, the search that never found the actual answer.
That's still the bar we hold the product to. If a feature doesn't remove real friction from a real engineering team's day, it doesn't ship.

Velocity without recklessness
Speed that comes from removing friction, not from skipping the parts of engineering that matter.
Trust is earned line by line
Every AI suggestion has to justify itself. Confident and wrong is worse than quiet and right.
Craft in the details
The parts of the product nobody asks for — the ones that just feel right — are where we spend the extra hour.
Built by the people who'd use it
Every person on the team has shipped production code. We build the tool we wished we'd had.
